My #1 Secret For Styling Great Outfits

my number one style secret

Ok, so it’s not going to be a secret any longer but this is so good I couldn’t keep it to myself forever. What could it possibly be? When I think of professionals who know how to put patterns and colors together outside of the fashion world I think of interior designers.

Interior design is field I like to follow. People’s tastes for interior design vary even more than their taste in fashion. It’s because of this that interior design is filled with creative people who can create a range of different styles that look fantastic.

With sites like Houzz and Apartment Therapy gaining popularity you should have no trouble finding inspiration.

From contemporary to country, whatever style you want to dress in you can find inspiration from interior design. Let’s look at one interior design and see how we can pull an outfit together using the elements from the design.

To illustrate this technique I will use a country-themed living room I found on Houzz. I’ll call this look the country gentleman.

The Country Gentleman

Rust Blazer from the sofa – This rust colored herringbone tweed blazer is by Brooks Brothers.
