This post is in honor of memorial day and the men and women who serve and have served. And what better colors to wear for memorial day than red, white and blue. To all of you who have served or whose loved ones have given the ultimate sacrifice I extend my sincere thanks and respect. Because of you the country that I love, and the world in which we live, is a better place.
What I chose to do here is to use shades of red, white and blue. A shade is a darker variation of a color. On the other side, a tint is a lighter variant of a color. The shirt is actually a cream color, somewhere in between white and ecru.
The newsboy cap provides a vintage feel.
The colors in the rest of the outfit all come from the pants. I took the main navy along with the crimson and cream from the stripes and expanded to choose the rest of the items. The plaid and stripes work well together since they each use a similar base color and accentuating colors.
