I almost decided to study industrial design while in college. I ended up taking a different route, yet my passion for great design remains. As this is a blog about men’s style and style isn’t only displayed through one’s clothing, from time to time I will feature some of my favorite design houses and classic pieces here on Post + Modern. In this post I am featuring Alessi.
Alessi History
Alessi’s humble beginnings date back to 1921 when the company was founded to process sheet metal. Since then, the company has become a leader in Italian design. In 1955 the company began collaborating with outside designers. During the 1980s the idea of mass-production started to work its way into traditional Italian design factories. Alessi embraced this change and worked with many famous designers to create products that could easily be mass-produced. They now focus on producing home goods designed by famous designers and architects.
